Should India be called as "UNITY IN DIVERSITY" ???

As we all know that India has variety in every field like languages, lifestyles, religions, habits, geography, climates, cultures etc... But is their any unity in it ?? We all know that before the time of independence India was working unitedly and had fought against the Britishers being united but when Britishers decided to leave India and give freedom to Indian people the unity break down and it resulted in the formation of "Pakistan". That was not the single case of breaking the unity but now also in our country itself we find the fight between Hindus and Muslims we can take the example of Godhra riots. There is also fight on the topic of language also we can see the people asking for the separate state just for separating their people on the basis of the language. We can see the unity is breaking in the different caste of people. We have the example of the Untouchability followed by the high caste and low caste people. Now a days the students are also coming against the reservation that is made for the SC and ST in the admission process. In one way it is good that they are given reservation as their community should come up and on the other hand it is injustice for the open category student as they do not get the admission though they had scored good percentage.

So what is the reason behind all this break down. I think due to this break down of our unity we are going much away from the unity so lets come together form unity and lets make our country united by doing different social work or with any useful strategy

political status of women in india

In the todays world of 21st century the status of women had been much improved in the most of the field but what is the political status of women in our country India after independence ???

Although the government of India had made certain reservation for the women to participate for the member of the parliament but we cannot find that total number of seats for women been occupied. The government of India had passed the bill in 1992 that their will be 33% of reservation for women in Indian parliament. There is demand that reservation for the OBC women should be increased. The main provision of the bill introduced in parliament in September 1996 were: (1) Not less than one-third seats have to be reserved in the loksabha and legislative assemblies for women, and among these reserved seats, provision has to be made for the reserved seats for women belonging to SC and ST, in the same proportion as provided in the constitution for the SC and ST people in general. (2) In the states where there are less than three seats for the loksabha there will be no reservation. The original bill made no mention of rajyasabha or the legislative of states.

The patriarchal society is responsible for this status of women in Indian politics. The male accept male domination to a certain extent. The root of the matter is that in politics a person who is not a member of a political party is a lay person politically. The representation of women in the higher units of the political parties is lower still. The number of women at the top, policy making executive bodies of the parties is absolutely nominal. In any political party, if there is a section without sufficient and affective presence in the executive bodies, the interests of that section will naturally be neglected. The male dominated political parties are intrested in the female vote bank. They are not interested in promoting female membership in the party beyond a certain limit so that men could hold maximum number of important positions, obviously women have to change their mode of approach to political participation, if they aspire for substantial representation in the legislative bodies. More and more women should take the primary membership of the parties and involve themselves in the local activities. Without improving the primary membership and the grassroots level activities, not many people could go up in the units.

Without proper representation of the women in the legislative bodies and political participation of women at all levels, issues concerning women would remain neglected. Women should also erase the thought of the Politics as a dirty game from their mind. Its not the dirty game but the people involve in it are with dirty mind. So women should come up in the field of politics by following the role model like smt. Indira Gandhi, smt. Sonia Gandhi, smt. Pratibha Patil who is our president.
